Building Your Resume

Next, a box will appear to give you the option of choosing the job title you are looking for. This gives you personal keywords for that particular role. After clicking Apply or Skip you will be greeted with your resume. Essentially it’s your LinkedIn profile condensed into your summary, experience, education, skills and awards. Any changes you make on these sections will not reflect on your profile, so feel free to tailor the information for your desired role. Any empty sections will not appear on your resume.

On the right-hand side of the page, you will see the Keyword insights tool. This will give you suggestions for the desired position. Alongside it is LinkedIn reassurance that each resume is formatted to be compatible with the typical resume screening software used by recruiters.

To edit a section click on the pencil icon next to each section. Make sure to include your contact information and take note of the tips that appear next to each section. Although you can choose to follow every step, ensure you make it personal and unique.

Once you are complete, preview the resume and ensure you are happy with each section. Reviewing your spelling and grammar along the way. After you can download the resume as a PDF by clicking on the More button on the top right and clicking Download as PDF.

There you have it, a quick resume with LinkedIn. The next step is applying for a job. We wish you the best of luck!
