But – and it’s a big but – never post what it gives you straight out the box.
AI is great at helping you get started. It can organise your thoughts, clean up messy drafts, rephrase things, and stop you staring at a blank page for 45 minutes. It’s a brilliant collaborator. But a pretty rubbish originator.
Why You Should Use AI to write content (But with Caution)
The problem? AI doesn’t have a point of view. Even with a clever prompt, it still struggles to offer your take on things. It doesn’t have lived experience, It doesn’t know your values, It can’t see what others are missing or where the conversation is stale. That’s your job.
And let’s be honest, AI content is obvious right now.
People can spot it a mile off – safe, vague, mildly helpful, but bland. That might change in future, but for now? Readers want a human voice. They want you.
Since ChatGPT launched the internet and been flooded with poor quality AI content, this has given a somewhat negative perception of AI content.
However, Google has provided clear guidance on how it evaluates AI-generated content, focusing on the quality and helpfulness of the information rather than how it was created.
As AI develops, more and more content will be created or improved by AI, but the best content will be the content which resonates and adds value to the consumers of the content. So, in short, AI content, like all content will be a quality rather than quantity game.
So here’s how to think about it…
Use AI to speed up, to refine, to spark ideas – yes. But the insight, the angle, the opinion? That’s what makes content work. That’s what builds trust, credibility, and authority. No AI can do that for you.
Your Voice Is the Value
The best content sounds like a person. It challenges, It resonates, It reveals something. And that only happens when you actually think, and then say something worth reading.
AI’s amazing when it amplifies you. It’s useless when it replaces you.
So write with it. But don’t let it write for you.
