There are plenty of excuses you can make for not posting on LinkedIn, but when you repurpose your content for LinkedIn, those excuses start to fall apart. However, all of them can usually be summarised in one of two waysโฆ
โI donโt have time to post.โ
โI donโt know what to post.โ
Unfortunately, those excuses donโt mean squat to your network. If youโre not showing up, theyโre not going to hang around waiting for you. Itโs true that content on its own will not build your business on LinkedIn but it is a key part of any successful social selling strategy.
Even if youโre making time to grow your network and comment on a few prospects’ posts, none of this will even have half of the impact it could have if you were posting yourself.
Now, saying all of that isnโt magically going to give you the time you donโt have to write an entire posting schedule. But, you donโt need it. You just need to learn how to repurpose the content you already have for LinkedIn.
How to Repurpose Your Content for LinkedIn from Blogs and Newsletters
For some of you, this might require a little more preparation than others. Those of you who already have an archive of blogs posts or newsletters published, skip down the next few lines.ย
The rest of you, listen up! Sharing regular blog posts and newsletters will still require some of your time but that time wonโt just produce one piece of content. Within that one piece of content, youโll have a hub of content to use for multiple LinkedIn posts.ย
Blog posts and newsletters are valuable pieces of content on their own but you can cut them down and repurpose them. Take sections and give them new or extra context, share them verbatim and encourage people to find out more with a link to the original content.
Just one blog post or newsletter can be repurposed into:
- Posts that share something valuable you learned.
- Posts that teach that valuable lesson to others.
- โHow toโ breakdowns in carousel graphics.
- A series of video snippets.
- Polls based on the content.
Get more from your time
While this might seem like a lot of work in the beginning, it will help establish that essential posting habit and provide insight into what resonates with your audience. Once you know this, creating content on the fly will be much easier.
So, donโt post and forget! Study the metrics of posts that do well and apply this to your content strategy.
