We’ve all had awkward encounters, right? Conversations that haven’t quite gone the way we thought or people we just really don’t gel with. Well, the fantastic thing about the internet is that there is the option to remove these people from your life by blocking them. Even on LinkedIn, you’re not going to get along with everyone. So, here is a quick guide to blocking people on LinkedIn.
So, how do you block people on LinkedIn?
- Go to the profile of the person you want to block.
- Click the ‘More’ button below their name and profile picture.
- Choose the last option on the list ‘Report/Block.’
- Click ‘Block’ from the menu and confirm.
You will also notice that you have the option to ‘Report’ people as well. If you believe this person is violating any of LinkedIn’s terms of service or you’re concerned about their content or profile then you can report as well as block them.
If you realised you blocked the wrong person or just had a change of heart, don’t fret! Unblocking people is just as easy.
- Click the ‘Me’ icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.
- Select the ‘Settings & Privacy’ option.
- Select ‘Visibility’ from the options on the left.
- Click ‘Blocking’ from the bottom of ‘Visibility of your profile & network.’
- A list of the people you have blocked will appear with the option to ‘Unblock’ them.
Hopefully, you’ll never reach the limit but it’s probably best for you to know that you can only block up to 1,200 people. Which is an impressive number to say the least. You also have to wait 48 hours after blocking someone before you can re-block them, so don’t get a little too carried away going back and forth.
