Why is it important?

It is important to remember the power that importing and inviting your email contacts has when building your LinkedIn profile. You have to be smart about it though.

LinkedIn isn’t like other popular social networks in that adding every single person you know, despite their lack of relevance to your professional life, could be a detriment. It suggests you are networking for the sake of it and not to build meaningful and genuine connections.

This aside, contacts are one of LinkedIn’s finest benefits. Contacts = Opportunity.

By making valuable connections you are facilitating gateways to even more new contacts.

You can even view connections’ contacts under certain circumstances. This helps you get connected with more relevant people in your industry. This is especially vital when it comes to recruitment opportunities and B2B Lead Generation.

So do go ahead. Import and Invite email contacts to LinkedIn as soon as possible.

It’s the best way to jump-start your LinkedIn profile.
